asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will list the figures of the total of overseas persons settling in the United Kingdom for each of the last ten years; and whether, for each year, they will show, expressed as a percentage, the number of (a) aliens taken and the conditions, (b) Commonwealth immigrants admitted for settlement and United Kingdom passport holders subject to controls admitted for settlement.

Following are the relevant figures since 1963 (the first full year after the coming into force of the Commonwealth Immigrants Act 1962):—
