asked the Prime Minister if he will make a statement on allocation between different Ministers on all matters concerned with drugs.

The Prime Minister

My right hon. Friend the Home Secretary is responsible for the control of dangerous drugs and other drugs that are subject to misuse, while my right hon. Friends the Health Ministers have the broad responsibility for legislation relating to the medicinal uses of drugs and are responsible, under the National Health Service, for the health aspects of drug addiction, including the provision of specialist facilities such as treatment clinics. My right hon. Friends the Education Ministers are concerned with the extent of drug-taking in schools and the means of combating it.
