asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will state the current salary scales for cardiological technicians.

Mr. Alison

Since 1st July, 1969 salaries have beenCardiological Technician—£650–910. Senior Cardiological Technician—£950–1,150. Chief Cardiological Technician—£1,150–1,360.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what action he is taking to enable salary negotiations for cardiological technicians to be resumed.

This is a matter for the Whitley Council. I understand that the two sides are trying to find a basis for resuming discussions.
