§ Mr. RipponThe discussions which I and my noble Friend the Minister of State for the Home Department have had with the Islands' authorities covered the effect of United Kingdom membership of the European Economic Community on the Islands' economies. The details of those discussions are confidential. The position of the Channel Islands has yet to be dealt with in Brussels.
