§ Mr. Dudley SmithProvisional figures indicate that on 6th December 141,149 people were registered as unemployed in Scotland and the rate was 6.5 per cent. We recognise that this is unacceptably high. In recent months we have introduced many measures to expand the national economy and to help Scotland in particular. As they take effect unemployment in Scotland as in other parts of Great Britain should come down.
