§ Mr. Goronwy Robertsasked the Secretary of State for Wales, what plans he has for the improvement of the A5 road in North Wales.
§ Mr. Peter ThomasThe value of schemes at present under construction is about £410,000. Within the next two years or so I plan to commit a further £900,000 of work, in addition to smaller schemes which have not yet been selected. In addition, work costing an estimated £7.5m. is included in the preparation pool. This includes a new road crossing of the Menai Straits. The length of the road adjacent to Betws-y-Coed is included in a feasibility study which is about to begin. Routes are under investigation for future by-passes of Chirk, Llangollen and Corwen.
