§ 87. Mr. Barry Jonesasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what salary and other financial arrangements are to be made for the Chairman of the Sports Council of Great Britain, the Chairman of the Welsh Sports Council, and the Chairman of the Scottish Sports Council, respectively.
§ Mr. Eldon GriffithsThe duties of the Chairman of the Sports Council are part-time and the arrangements are that remuneration will be proportionate to that for full-time appointments at this level in other comparable bodies. He will also be able to claim travel and other out-of-pocket expenses on scales similar to those in Government service. The arrangements concerning the Chairmen of the Scottish Sports Council and the Sports Council for Wales are matters for my right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for Scotland and Wales.
