§ Mr. Michael HeseltineAs my hon. Friend said in reply to a question from my hon. Friend the Member for Derbyshire, South-East (Mr. Rost) on 8th December, the supply of land for house building is a responsibility of local authorities. In the Ipswich sub-region in particular the two authorities concerned said last year that sites for 14,750 dwellings were already available. I understand that they have since been making a detailed study of areas where a further 5,250 houses could be built in the period up to 1981.—[Vol. 827. c. 1287.]
