HC Deb 15 December 1971 vol 828 c126W
Mr. Hooson

asked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications (1) what has been the total capital expenditure in the last five years on the BBC2 television channel and the arrangements for its reception in different parts of the country;

(2) what has been the total expenditure over the last five years on the improvement of television reception in the Mid-Wales area.

Mr. Chataway

I understand from the broadcasting authorities that in the last five years £6.5 million has been spent on BBC2 transmitting stations, 12½ per cent. of it for Wales, and £150,000 on four I.T.A. transmitters serving parts of the mid-Wales area.
