§ Mr. Maclennanasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is the reduction in the numbers of staff employed by the Atomic Energy Authority consequent upon the transfer of the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment to the Ministry of Defence; and in particular what are the consequences now anticipated upon employment at the Atomic Energy Authority's superannuation office in Thurso, Caithness.
§ Mr. David PriceSubject to Parliamentary approval of the transfer, rather less than a third of the Authority's present employees will be transferred to the Ministry of Defence. The transfer is not expected to cause a significant reduction in the present work-load of the Authority's Superannuation Office at Thurso, since many of the transferred employees are likely to remain in the Authority's pension scheme.
