HL Deb 09 December 1971 vol 326 cc985-6WA
VISCOUNT AMORY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, in view of the progress of the Museums and Galleries (Admission Charges) Bill, they have any statement to make about the introduction of charges for entry to national museums and galleries.

THE PAYMASTER GENERAL (VISCOUNT ECCLES)

It is not now reasonable to expect that the Museums and Galleries (Admission Charges) Bill will become law before the Christmas Recess. The date for the general introduction of charges is therefore postponed and will be fixed as soon as convenient after the passage of the Bill.

House adjourned at fourteen minutes before eight o'clock.
