§ Mr. BryanFigures published by the National Institute for Economic and Social Research show that output per man hour in the manufacturing industries rose by 3.0 per cent. between 1968 and 1969, and by 1.4 per cent. between 1969 and 1970. The latest figures available show that in the first half of 1971 output per man hour in these industries was 5.8 per cent. higher than it had been a year earlier.
