HC Deb 09 December 1971 vol 827 cc390-1W
Mr. Marten

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether the detailed application of the common agricultural policy of the European Economic Community in the Channel Islands is to be agreed before the Treaty of Accession is signed; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Rippon

As I told the House in my statement on 11th November, the Community has agreed to offer the Islands free trade in agricultural products.

Only those Community measures which are indispensable for free trade in these products will apply to the Islands, and the details will be worked out with the Community in due course.—[Vol. 825, c. 1238.]
