§ Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department in view of the fact that a recent survey carried out by the International Association Against Painful Experiments on Animals, 323W a copy of which has been sent to him, shows that few countries have legislation comparable with the British Cruelty to Animals Act, 1876, governing experiments on live animals, whether he will seek powers to ensure that no animals are exported from the United Kingdom to countries without legislation similar to that operating in the United Kingdom.
