§ Mr. AmeryThe current estimate of the total sum payable to local authorities and new towns in England and Wales for 1970–71 in respect of housing accommodation provided or improved by them is about £168 million. This figure excludes payments made by the Supplementary Benefits Commission towards the rent of council and new town tenants.
