Mr. Darlingasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will refer to the Monopolies Commission, for inquiry and report, the recent developments in the management of the Trust Houses-Fortes Hotels group, following the merger of the interests involved, particularly to consider whether the merger has led, or is likely to lead, to a more efficient conduct and expansion of the group's hotels; and whether a take-over by another company would be in the public interest.
