HC Deb 05 August 1971 vol 822 c458W
51. Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is satisfied that the penalties for failing to comply with the tractor safety regulations are adequate; what proposals he has for amending them; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Anthony Stodart

The maximum penalty for all offences committed under the Agriculture (Safety, Health and Welfare Provisions) Act, 1956, and the Regulations made under it is £50. I am studying proposals for increasing this penalty, and I intend to consult interested organisations.
