HC Deb 05 August 1971 vol 822 cc356-7W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will instruct the Derbyshire Education Committee to change its development plan for education in order to prevent schoolchildren in the Tibshelf area having to travel 14 miles per day.

Mr. van Straubenzee

Children of secondary school age in the Tibshelf area at present attend schools either in Tibshelf itself or at Clay Cross, four miles way. My right hon. Friend knows of no proposal, in the development plan or otherwise, which would require them to travel 14 miles a day.
