asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how much, according to the latest available information, is spent on social welfare and security in Great Britain and each country of the European Economic Community, respectively, stating whether the criteria on which each is based is the same.

The 1971 edition of the E.E.C. booklet "The Common Market and the Common Man" gives the following figures of national expenditure on social welfare and security in 1968 (excluding administrative costs).
