LORD INGLEWOODasked Her Majesty's Government:
What progress they have made towards ensuring that all bull licences issued in England are valid in Scotland and without further formality and vice versa.
EARL ST. ALDWYNI would refer the noble Lord to the statement about the future of sire licensing made by my right honourable friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in another place yesterday. The statement indicated that there are to be changes in bull licensing and that the new administrative arrangements which will be required are to be discussed with the organisations concerned. Under he present arrangements, the formalities involved in securing a licence in Scotland for a bull already licensed in England (orvice versa) are small. Under the revised 1275WA arrangements announced yesterday it should be possible to reduce those formalities even further.
1276WAHouse adjourned for the Summer Recess at twenty minutes before one o'clock.
