HC Deb 04 August 1971 vol 822 cc302-3W
Mr. Adley

asked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications what steps he intends to take to institute proceedings against a firm, whose name is in his possession, for the manufacture and sale of radar spotters without a licence.

Mr. Chataway

None. A licence is not required for the manufacture or sale of "radar spotters". It is illegal to use such devices without a licence, and I am not prepared to licence their use. All known manufacturers and distributors of "radar spotters" have had their attention drawn to this by my Department.
