§ Mr. Clinton Davisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment why he has refused to take steps to collect information within his Department on the numbers of families at present on housing waiting lists of local authorities in England and Wales, in view of the fact that such figures are being collected for Scotland.
§ Mr. ChannonIt has been the practice under successive Governments not to collect these figures mainly because waiting lists are not an accurate measure of housing need.
