69. Mr. Modelasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in view of the large numbers of people who feel wronged by planning decisions of local authorities, he will bear this fact in mind in his consultations on the advisability of setting up regional ombudsmen.
§ Mr. Graham PageThe consultations are with representatives of the local authorities for the improvement of arrangements for investigating citizens' complaints. Although planning procedures will come under consideration I would expect the consultations to deal only with complaints of maladministration by local authorities and not with matters for which there is a right of appeal (as there is in planning cases).
