§ 114. Mrs. Doris Fisherasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will consider introducing an extension of the Rent Act so that tenants of local authorities have the same protection as other tenants.
§ Mr. AmeryTenants of local authorities are already protected against eviction without a court order.
Additional protection is given to the tenants of private landlords for reasons which do not apply to council tenants and I do not consider that any such extension of the Rent Acts in the public field is necessary.
