§ Mr. AmeryMy Department is conducting and promoting research into various aspects of district heating, including a major study by the Heating and Ventilating Research Association.
Local authorities are responsible for deciding whether to incorporate district heating in their housing schemes. Where they so decide, additional loan sanction is made available over the housing cost yardstick if the district heating scheme appears to offer significant savings.
