asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if his Department will take further steps to protect members of the Diplomatic Service serving overseas from kidnap and civil commotion.

Mr. Amery

My right hon. Friend and I have a duty to protect members of the Diplomatic Service as best we can.

Our officials have a number of special schemes in hand at the moment, and I have no doubt that more will follow.
