§ Mr. Gurdenasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what has been the effect on dental health of children in Birmingham of fluoridation of the water supply.

Friend copies of a progress report presented to the Royal Society of Health in June, 1970, and of a paper published in theBritish Dental Journal of 6th April, 487W 1971. These documents show that there has been a considerable improvement in the dental health of those children who have experienced fluoridation from birth, and that the number of children with rampant caries has fallen significantly.
