HL Deb 07 April 1971 vol 317 c403WA
THE EARL OF LAUDERDALE

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will list the consultancy assignments overseas undertaken by nationalized industries (1) from June 1, 1969 to June 1, 1970, and (2) since June 1, 1970.

THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (EARL JELLICOE)

The only records the Government have relate to consultancy services in developing countries paid for by the British Government under bilateral technical assistance arrangements. I will send details of these to the noble Earl. Other assignments undertaken by the nationalized industries vary from informal advice to their counterparts overseas to detailed consultancy studies carried out either by the industries themselves or in collaboration with independent consultants. These are matters for the management of the industries themselves, and the Government do not maintain records of these kinds of cases.
