HC Deb 07 April 1971 vol 815 c122W
29. Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many non-proven verdicts have been reached in the latest period for which information is available; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Buchanan-Smith

In 1970 Scottish courts reached a not-proven verdict in respect of 1,701 persons.

I have nothing to add to the terms of the reply I gave to the hon. Member on 17th March.—[Vol. 813, c. 321.]
