§ Mr. Eadieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is now in a position to state what will be spent of the £11 million additional expenditure for health welfare services announced by him on 11th November on the disease of alcoholism; and what has been spent already this year.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellThe £11 million additional expenditure will be 135W made available to hospital, local health and social work authorities. Local spending decisions are for them to take and, I have no doubt that they will give due weight to the need for improved facilities for treating alcoholism. Current expenditure cannot easily be calculated.
