§ 74. Mr. David Stoddartasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will take immediate steps to improve job opportunities in Swindon, in 15W view of the increase of unemployment and the reduction of jobs available.
§ Sir J. EdenThe employment situation in Swindon continues to be more favourable than in many parts of the United Kingdom. Subject to the priority given to the assisted areas, the Department will continue to grant industrial development certificates for reasonable expansion by local firms as well as for suitable schemes by firms wishing to move to Swindon from London.
