§ Mr. Wilkinsonasked the Minister of State for Defence whether he intends to require that the commanding officers and senior pilots of fixed wing squadrons of the Fleet Air Arm be naval as opposed to Royal Air Force officers for as long as H.M.S. "Ark Royal" remains in commission.
§ Lord BalnielFor the present the senior squadron posts in H.M.S. "Ark Royal" will continue to be filled by the Royal Navy. The appointment of Royal Air Force officers to these posts will be kept under review.
