§ 45. Sir J. Rodgersasked the Secretary of State for Employment, in view of the close-down of five out of 13 machines at Aylesford Paper Mill, in Kent, causing a decrease of 970 employees, what steps he proposes to take to help to find alternative employment in this area.
§ Mr. BryanMy Department will make every effort to find alternative employment for those who are to become redundant. Arrangements have been made for a job team to begin interviewing at the mill on 19th April following a special canvass for jobs in the surrounding area.
