asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police has indicated that he will be withdrawing in July, 1971, the police road safety teams from their present duties in the schools and other spheres within the jurisdiction of Road Safety Councils.

To enable the members of the team to undertake direct accident prevention work. School visits are to be undertaken by local police in collaboration with local authority road safety officers.
