HC Deb 30 October 1970 vol 805 cc236-7W
Dr. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what were the identities of the aircraft that flew low over Westminster and Kensington at a high power-output at 05.50 hours on 27th October and at 05.45 hours on 28th October; what were the operators and the flight numbers; and why these flights were so unusually low and loud.

Mr. Noble

The aircraft concerned appear to have been a Boeing 707 on Pan American Flight No. PA167 which landed at Heathrow at 05.58 on 27th October and a Boeing 707 on B.O.A.C. Flight No. BA851 which landed at 05.52 on 28th October. No other complaints have been received. I am making further inquiries about their height on approach and will advise my hon. Friend of the outcome.
