HC Deb 29 October 1970 vol 805 c181W
Mr. Boyden

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has yet received the report of the Law Commission on Vandalism; and what action he proposes to take.

Mr. Carlisle

The Law Commission's Report on Offences of Damage to Property is being carefully studied, but my right hon. Friend is not yet in a position to make a statement.

Mr. Torney

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for reports from chief constables concerning the numbers of offences of vandalism and assaults reported to the police, also the numbers of offenders apprehended for these offences during 1970.

Mr. Sharples

A wide range of statistics relating to such offences is being collected and will in due course be published in the Criminal Statistics for 1970.

Mr. William Price

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people have been convicted of acts of violence against publicans or managers of licensed premises in each of the past five years.

Mr. Carlisle

I regret that this information is not available.
