§ 88. Mr. Clinton Davisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the rôle of employees of Securicor in connection with the supervision of immigrants who are refused entry into this country; to whom such employees are answerable; and what is the annual remuneration paid to Securicor for such services.
§ Mr. SharplesSecuricor employees, in uniform but carrying no weapons, look after and escort persons who are detained for purposes of immigration control, in pursuance of authority given under paragraph 4 of the First Schedule to the Commonwealth Immigrants Act, 1962, and Article 8 of the Aliens Order, 1953. They work under the supervision of the Immigration service. It would be contrary to practice to disclose the payment made to Securicor Limited under this contract.
§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department on what basis and for what purposes his Department employs Securicor Limited; whether these men wear uniforms and carry truncheons and other weapons; and under what statutory authority he employs these men on police duties.
