HC Deb 29 October 1970 vol 805 c183W
Mr. Moyle

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proposals he has for so amending Section 6 of the Race Relations Act, 1938, as to give the Race Relations Board discretion as to whether or not to investigate complaints submitted to it under Section 6 above.

Mr. Sharples

The Race Relations Board has recommended that the Act should be amended to give it discretion whether or not to investigate individual complaints. This recommendation is being considered but I can give no indication of what the outcome will be.
