§ Mr. Dudley SmithOn 9th September this year there were 34,356 people, including both those unemployed and those still in employment, with their names on the Professional and Executive Register. In the year ended on that date, 12,637 placing in employment were effected through the Register.

§ Mr. Dudley SmithThe Professional and Executive Register deals with people seeking professional, technical, scientific and trainee posts as well as those of a managerial and executive nature. The number of unemployed on the Register on 9th September this year was 18,567. This represents almost 3 per cent. of the total unemployed register on 14th September, or 3.2 per cent. of those registered as wholly unemployed on that date.
