HC Deb 29 October 1970 vol 805 c195W
108. Mr. Edelman

asked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications whether he will introduce legislation extending the function of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration, in order that complaints by the public against alleged abuses of the television and radio media may be heard and given redress.

Mr. Chataway

No. The Parliamentary Commissioner Act, 1967 provides for the investigation of complaints of maladministration in the central government field; it would not, I think, provide a suitable framework for the quite different matters raised in the question.
