HC Deb 29 October 1970 vol 805 c198W
Q13. Mr. Hugh Jenkins

asked the Prime Minister what is the practice of his Administration regarding the holding of directorships or ownership of shares by Ministers in foreign companies or companies with foreign subsidiaries.

The Prime Minister

On taking office, Ministers are advised to resign any directorships which they may hold, whether in public or private companies; and to divest themselves of shareholdings where their retention might lead to conflict between their private interests and their public duties. This applies to directorships and shareholdings in British and foreign companies alike.
