HC Deb 29 October 1970 vol 805 c190W
Mr. Barnett

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the percentage of boys and girls selected for grammar school places in the towns of Crompton and Royton; and how this compares with the position in the rest of the county.

Mr. van Straubenzee

I understand that in the past four years the percentage of boys and girls selected at 11 for grammar school places in Crompton and Royton fluctuated as follows: Crompton, between 17 and 24; Royton, between 20 and 26. The percentage for Lancashire as a whole is estimated to be about 25.
