§ 92. Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what measures have been taken by the manufacturers of fireworks to increase safety precautions since 5th November, 1966.
§ Mr. SharplesCertain types of firework have been modified or discontinued; packaging and labelling of fireworks have been improved; the manufacturers have asked retailers not to sell bangers until after 1st October; and each year they have conducted an extensive publicity campaign. This year, they are distributing posters and leaflets to draw attention to a new firework safety code which has been prepared in consultation with the Home Office and interested safety organisations.
