HC Deb 29 October 1970 vol 805 cc200-1W
Dr. Bennett

asked the Prime Minister if he will make a statement about the release of official economic statistics.

The Prime Minister

Yes. At my request, the Central Statistical Office is undertaking a review, with the statistics divisions of the departments concerned, of the publication procedures for all major economic series to ensure that they are published with the minimum delay. The Central Statistical Office will publish each month and in advance a list of expected release dates for all of these series. The first such publication will be issued today. I attach great importance to these developments and I have asked the Director of the Central Statistical Office to proceed with them as quickly as possible.
