85. Mr. Edwin Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the Chief Constable of the West Yorkshire Constabulary as to the number of crimes committed in the West Yorkshire Constabulary area for the six months ended 31st May, 1970, how many were listed as crimes of violence, and the numbers for the same period for 1964, 1966, 1968, and 1969.

The only available figures relate to indictable offences for a period of six months ending 30th June in each of the years in question. Following is the information:
