HC Deb 29 October 1970 vol 805 cc196-7W
8. Miss Lestor

asked the Prime Minister what is the machinery for co-operation between the Home Office, Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Department of Employment and Productivity in respect of holders of British passports in East Africa who do not qualify under the priority scheme; and to what extent the British High Commissions advise such persons to apply for work vouchers under the Commonwealth Immigrants Act.

The Prime Minister

All United Kingdom passport holders in East Africa who wish to settle in this country may apply for special quota vouchers entitling them to do so, but their rate of entry is controlled. Our High Commissions advise applicants for special vouchers of their possible eligibility for employment vouchers.
