§ Mr. Douglasasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish figures showing the effect of the recent increase in teachers' salaries on the Scottish local authority rates.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellThe increase in teachers' salaries is estimated to add£14.6 million to the 1970–71 rate fund expenditure of local authorities. This sum includes back pay for the period between 1st April, 1970 and the end of the local authority financial year.
