§ Mr. Clinton Davisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services which local authorities have notified his Department that they are now co-operating with the Family Planning Association in establishing a vasectomy service.
§ Mr. AlisonI am aware of one authority which has taken action of this kind; but I am advised that local health authorities have no power to provide a vasectomy service. Vasectomy may be performed in National Health Service hospitals when it is in the interest of the health of husband or wife.
