89. Mr. Barry Jones

asked the Minister of Aviation Supply in view of the importance of the European Airbus project, A300 B to employment and prosperity in East Flintshire, what information his Department has received on the progress of the project; what plans Her Majesty's Government has to become involved in the project again; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Corfield

The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry and I have discussed with Ministers of the Federal German Republic, the Netherlands and France their invitation to the United Kingdom to resume its place in the A300 B Airbus programme. A further meeting of Ministers of the four countries will take place in London tomorrow.
