Mr. Mather

asked the Minister for Aviation Supply how many and what type of British aircraft were exported during the period 1965 to 1969, inclusive, and for the previous five years.

The required information is given in the notes and table attached. It would not be in the public interest to provide a detailed breakdown of the military aircraft exports similar to that supplied for civil aircraft. Information is not readily available in this form for civil or military engines exported separately.

During the period 1965 to 1969, some 456 aircraft were sold to overseas customers for military purposes. For the period 1960 to 1964, the figure was 437. The types of aircraft involved were:
